Finishing the sink

The school did a lot of work on the sink over the weekend, but we were able to come back today to help with some finishing touches. We filled all the cracks between the tile with blue grout using cut up flip flops, drilled holes to secure the water pipe into place, and screwed on the faucets.

It is way cool to think that this was just a cement wall behind a cafeteria a week ago! Manual labor is tough but the results are rewarding.

Our group with the handyman who helped us today. He’s really good at what he does!

We’re planning a hand washing and teeth brushing campaign at the school next week with an assembly, some relay races, and art projects to help promote proper technique of these practices. Stay tuned!

  1. Oh my goodness, we need to send money right away for new tooth brushes! Dad is so excited to do that and we want to send some t-shirts along with them. Tonight we will chat about the best place to send stuff and how cool is that to teach those skills and get the kids excited! Awesome to see the finished project and it looks so good it will motivate the kids to be better at these things. By the way we should send a link with your blog to all donors so they can see all that you are accomplishing!
