The plan was to return to the poop village (do I even have
to explain that nickname?) and continue hauling sand and start making a new
cement foundation for the house. Two people in our group weren’t stayed home because
they were having stomach problems, and even though Justin was a little sick to
his stomach he thought he’d be fine. An hour and a half later we were stopped
just before heading up to the village and Justin knew he should have stayed
home. We luckily found a yellow taxi truck whose driver ripped us off terribly,
but it was worth $13 USD to get back and feel sick rather than stay in a poop village
and be miserable.
Our first ride in one of these babies! Can't say we loved it.
Let’s just say we made the right choice, that there was no
mess in the taxi when we got out in our city, but that there will be a very stinky garbage
can across the bridge from our house when someone goes to empty it later today.
Justin stuck it out for so long, though! We’ve had almost half of our group get
this stomach bug at some point, and it seems to come in waves. It must be some
Thai pathogen we aren’t used to, and we’re taking it easy today. We felt bad we
couldn’t help out at the village, but this sight made the drive up there worth
it:
How many people can you cram into the back of a truck? You
tell me!
OH, that was such a sad story and you left out the part about the dead dog even. That almost made me loose it this morning! You two are troopers and the awesomest!!
ReplyDeleteOh I so hope you can avoid future bouts with that bug. Justin usually gets so sick when he gets any kind of flue bug. Andrea I hope you don't get sick. You are such troopers.....
